Aesthetics
Aesthetics is a branch of philosophy that examines the nature of art, beauty, and one's taste, highlighting the creation and appreciation of beauty. In the Aesthetics unit, students will gain an understanding of the main questions in aesthetics, and the main positions of major philosophers and schools of philosophy with respect to some of these quetions. They will evaluate these positions to the main questions, making connections between aesthetics and other areas of philosophy, other subject areas, and various aspects of society, including everyday life.
